We are so happy to have been able to be a part of The Superhero Showdown Race to raise awareness for MCAD(Mast Cell Activation Disorder)! Brinda, the organizer who did an incredible job, sent us this message:
As we hang up our capes, and tuck away our spandex and utility belts, we want to take a minute to reflect on what an amazing event the Superhero Showdown Race was! Everything was SUPER! We had wonderful weather, super sponsors, valiant vendors, vigilant volunteers, and remarkable runners!
A HUGE thank you to everyone involved. This was a group effort that was put together with a remarkable team that would put the Avengers to shame! This event was proof that a dedicated group with heart can do some amazing things.
Here are some stats from the race.
Runners/people made aware of MCAD: 505
Oldest Participant: 101
Youngest participant: Still in Mommy’s belly
and most importantly…
Money raised to help families living with the rare disease Mast Cell Activation Disorder: $25,000
Wow! Together with so many other giving hearts we were able to raise $25,000! That’s incredible! Not only will this money help cover hospital expenses for the family, but it will also go towards purchasing Taylor a brand new hospital bed for her home, adding comfort and peace to her everyday life.
